It’s time for change.
To all of you who’ve been reading, commenting and just being here, thank you. For you who have blogs, I’ll comment over at your place with my new domain at some point in the future (once I’ve decided what to do with it). You’ll find me again.
With this, my email address will disappear too. If you want my new one, send me a message or something at anny[at]annywithawhy.yt and tell me who you are, I’ll get in touch.
A few years back, I discovered Tea Tree, and the benefits it has on..well, everything!
I mainly use it for my face, it makes it all smooth and nice, and if you mix tea tree oil with your regular face lotion or some oil (coconut, olive, baby) and apply it as you normally would, you’ll notice that your skin will get clearer. Tea Tree has anti-inflammatory properties which makes it an excellent treatment for acne or blemishes you suffer from.
The bottle on the right is conditioner, because winter is near, and my hair needs some TLC.
In other news, Halloween is near, and I’m going to have fun with it. The different parts of my costume are all arriving one by one and I can’t wait to put it all together. What are you going to dress up as?
In honour of the previously posted fall checklist, here is proof of two things to cross off it ;)
And some music to that;
Fears. We all have them. And if there is something I’ve learned over the years, it’s that there is absolutely no way of overcoming them, unless you challenge yourself. You can try to medicate, you can try going to therapy, but in the end it’s all about you convincing your brain that what you are afraid of is actually not dangerous. Spiders aren’t going to kill you. Being high up doesn’t mean you’re going to fall and die. Being around people isn’t going to make them kill you.
I’ve read up a bit about this lately, it’s part of a small research project concerning cooperating with others.
Fear is an instinct meant to save your life. When you’re afraid of something, your body goes into hyper-alert and every cell in your body tells you to run, to get away. Why? To save your life. But as I said, you’re most likely not in any danger (unless there’s a guy with a knife running behind you, in which case you might want to get out of the way).
Fear is in your head. Fear isn’t something happening in real life, it’s just your reaction to it. And you can change the way you react. It takes time and some effort, but if it’s a fear that bothers you in your daily life, I can assure you it’s worth it.
I did something scary yesterday ago. For the past 2 months I’ve been going to a gym, because I just feel a lot better when I exercise (and noticing muscle definition when shaving your legs is also a great surprise :P). I’m not scared of going to the gym in particular, however I prefer not to go when there are other there. It’s not that I prefer being alone, I just don’t feel great about my own physique (which I know is ridiculous because I’m skinny and not the weakest person there).
Yesterday I went at 5.30pm. That’s the most busy time. I had to change while there were like 15 other people in the changing room, and exercise knowing people could be watching.
Know what? It wasn’t that bad. Yeah I was nervous, but it ain’t gonna kill me to be scared. And afterwards, I felt even better, because I knew that not only am I heading towards a better body and better health, but also towards a happier and more fearless life. That’s definitely worth fighting for.
Are you afraid of something? Are you trying to overcome it?
I’ve spent all day doing an autumn cleanup, I just like starting a new season with a tidy and clean home. Suddenly I realised my bed was untidy again, which is weird because I know I did it earlier. Went to fix it, and found this under the covers.
So cute! They even bumped noses. Took them a week to become friends, and I’m very happy they did, would’ve felt bad for Celeste otherwise. Babycat is named Sandy btw, a friend of mine named her and it just stuck, so Sandy it is.
Anyone who knows me is aware of just how much I adore summer, but you know what, I’m actually looking forward to autumn and, sort of, winter too. I know I’ll want to take that back once it’s January and I realise we still have months and months of darkness and snow ahead, but for now I’m just going to enjoy myself.
I hope you have a fantastic weekend!
Everyone around me is having kids. I don’t want kids yet, but I decided that my own little family needed an addition.
Wow. Yeah it’s been a while.. There is no way to cram the past 6 weeks into one blog post, and lots of what happened is private and I don’t want to talk about it on here anyway. But stuff is good. Really, stuff is awesome :)
To be honest, I’ve worked 190 hours per month both June and July. That in combination with meeting new people and hanging out with them has given me extremely little time for blogging, or really any online life at all.
So, to catch up, what better than a collage?
1. With all these rails and preparations, one would think we have royals visiting.
2. Oh, that’s right, we do. The King and Queen. Me and a couple of co-workers went to say hi!
3. Some people are just nuts for me ;) (and the award for worst pun goes to..)
4. I bought myself a gift, it arrived yesterday (A Nintendo 3DS XL)
5. Walking to the gym can be such a beautiful experience!
6. I’ll never have spent enough time out here!
7. Not sure what I did to deserve these, but they were beautiful!
8. Oh, and I got a tattoo!
9. I haven’t worn a pair of jeans since April. I have friends who have never seen me wearing anything but dresses and skirts!
So, to sum this up, it’s been a summer of gatherings, good food, good movies, friends, other close people, sunshine, cute dresses, way too much shopping, and it’s ending with some nerdery. Today looks like another beautiful day, and I’m working from home, so I can sit outside on my porch. Tomorrow I have the day off.
Yeah, I’ll try to get into this habit again, I kinda miss not having my life on record, even if it’s not in detail.
Until next time (hopefully not 6 weeks into the future)!
