Those of you who follow me on Instagram (princessceleste_) will know that I went to a local thrift store a few days ago. I thought I’d show you my fantastic finds. Keep in mind that for all of these things combined, I spent less than €14.

The books are; Freja and Idun, both by Johanne Hildebrandt. These are the first two books in a trilogy about Norse mythology, I’ve been meaning to read them for forever and I’ve always loved the cover of Idun. I have a thing for redheads, okay? Moving on.
We have Child 44 by Tom Rob Smith (in Swedish), The Shape of Snakes by Minette Walters, both seem to be mystery type books, I know nothing about them but they have good ratings on Goodreads so I’ll give them a try. There’s also The Solitaire Mystery by Jostein Gaarder (also in Swedish), which has gotten really good reviews. What made me look at it in the first place was the cover though, isn’t it pretty?

And last but not least, an amazing copy of The Picture of Dorian Gray & The Complete Short Stories by Oscar Wilde. There was no chance I would not buy this once I saw it, it’s gorgeous! (I paid €1.5 for it).

Other things; a purple cardigan and a necklace, both of which I didn’t take pictures of.
So many wins! This just goes to show that thrift stores can be gold mines, I’m very happy with my purchases!
Do you like going to thrift stores? Have you made any cool finds lately?
I do like thriftstores, but I’m horribly at finding them. But there are two quite nice and big ones here in Eindhoven. One is called Van Piere + De Slegte (combined second hand and new book store) and the other one is called Het Goed which is your typical thriftstore really. Funny thing is everything in there is color coded! And they have postcards :D
The Solitaire Mystery is one heck of a book! It is superduperamazing! Good buy! ;D
Oooh, a combined book store sounds like my ideal place, that way I can look at the second hand books first, and when I don’t find what I want, I go to the new section! :D I’m going to Stockholm soon so I need to try and find some thrift stores there, because honestly my town is so small, I think there are only 4 or 5 of them here, and only 2 I visit regularly..
I’m glad to hear that! I hadn’t actually heard about the Solitaire Mystery before I saw it on the shelf so I’m glad someone has read it :D
